It's a very common question. And one that seems so simple at first, and so you decide to type it into google. Right?

Just type it in and see what pops up.

What's difficult about the question is that it's far too general. The topic itself is as broad as asking "what is business?" You have to narrow it down.



You could ask, for example:

How can I be more profitable?

How can I reduce expenses?

How can I increase click-through-rate (CTR) on my email marketing?

How do I build a successful advertising campaign?

How do I build a blog?



And each of these questions are practically as broad on their own.

What this means for you is that you need to focus in on what you need to do to grow your business. What is the one thing you can do, that you can focus on to grow. Right now - what's the most pressing issue? Where can you be making more money? Or growing your margin?

This is something you need to figure out for yourself and no amount of googling will answer it for you. What you are looking for on here is inspiration.

You need to know...what you don't know!

Do you know what CTR is? Do you know what the ROI on your advertising is? Do you know how to sell or up-sell or cross-sell? Etc. etc. Can you answer every question a business consultant could ask about your business?

You have to pinpoint what the issue is and what can be done about it. You never know what topic or concept may be exactly what you need.

Every business has leaks and gaps they can't see until it's pointed out. You need to find those leaks and plug them. What can you do better? What can you do differently? Or more efficiently?

I personally focus on Facebook Advertising. That, for me, is the main way I can grow my business. By finding new clients on Facebook. This then opens up a huge area for me to learn and improve upon. How to run my ads better, the targeting, the audience, the content, the imagery, the copy, the landing page, the hook, the email marketing, the introductory funnel, etc. etc.

And every step along the way is something that I could make better, that I can test and improve or make more efficient.

But for you, the one thing that could help your business the most is likely very different. Perhaps you have expenses you need to reduce. Perhaps you need to re-engage with your customers. Perhaps you need to invest more in advertising. You cannot know until you stop thinking in the day-to-day and start thinking from the strategic point of view. Be the entrepreneur you originally set out to be.

I hope that this gives you some food for thought and that you will take a harder look at your business and what could be done better or more efficiently.
